What actually is a
B-Corp?

Certified B Corporations® (B Corps™) are for-profit companies that use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. In short, using business as a force for global good!

2,500 certified

There are over 2,500 Certified B Corporations from more than 130 industries and 60 countries with 1 unifying goal: to redefine success in business.

Global leaders

B Corps are leaders of a global movement of people using business as a force for good™.

Certification

The Certification process uses credible, comprehensive, transparent, and independent standards of social and environmental performance.

Measuring up

The B Corp assessment process measures a company’s performance in five categories: governance, workers, customers, community, and the environment.

Decisions

Certified B Corps amend their governance so that, by law, they can make decisions that consider not just shareholder value, but the impact on all stakeholders — employees, customers, society, and the environment.

Community

The B Corp community works toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose.

VIPs

B Corp Certification is a highly selective status. Companies must document their positive impact to qualify and undergo verification every three years to maintain their Certification.

Big or small

Certified B Corporations range from multinational corporations [Natura] to wholly owned subsidiaries [Seventh Generation] to small businesses [Harvest Market] serving local communities.

Accuracy

The B Impact Assessment takes into account the size, industry, and location of each business. This makes our assessment of overall impact as accurate as possible.

Unique

It is one of the only certifications that is not for a product or service, but for the whole business behind the product or service.

On a mission

B Corporation Certification helps consumers identify companies with a mission, and helps investors select investments that align with their values.

We passed!

MPOWERD scored a 140.5 in our B-Corp certification. We’re proud to be a B Corp and to say that we meet the highest standards of social and environmental impact. We believe in a better way of doing business.

In good company

Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. We are legally required to consider the impact of our decisions on our workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. We’re a community of leaders, driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good. And we’re in great company; Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, Allbirds, Cotopaxi, Bombas, Athleta, Kickstarter, and Klean Kanteen, just to name a few!

There's more.
We're also a Benefit Corp!

Being a Benefit Corp means that we are held accountable to our mission, now and in the future, by our stakeholders. Basically, our mission is ingrained into our business!

Good business

There are tons of B-Corps doing great things that we respect, admire, and get us excited! Check out a few favorites that can make you feel good about shopping, safe in the knowledge that consumerism isn’t always unsustainable.
