I bought this one (with shimmer) for my granddaughter (3 yo) and the non-shimmer one for my grandson (5yo) for our Disney Cruise. They loved them! Great for long trip in the car, a BIG hit during bath time (they float and make the bathroom light up with magical jewel tones--especially with overhead lights off) and for their rooms on return from our trip. They recharge in the sunlight. Everyone (me, daughter inlaw, son, granddaughter, grandson included) like the shimmer one the best. I also bought a regular one (with outlet recharge capabilities) for son and DIL and they like it, too. Great gift. Picture shows kids when they opened them at the TABLE (while and red).
