MPOWERD, Inc. Makes Foray Into Rapidly Growing STEM Market

New York - October 31, 2017: MPOWERD, Inc., the mission-driven brand behind award-winning Luci inflatable solar lights, announces their foray into the STEM & Education market with the launch of their newest product, the Build-Your-Own Luci: Solar Light Kit. Placement has been secured at key retailers like ToysRUs.com, just in time for the upcoming holiday season.

MPOWERD’s STEM kit will teach children how to apply scientific concepts in real life, all while building their own customizable solar light. The activity book explores solar power, electricity and even light itself, allowing children to follow along with scientists as they make their discoveries and trace how we got to where we are now.

With their DNA in impact, the 5-year-old company recognized an opportunity to educate future generations about the growing importance of clean energy alternatives. “It is essential to teach the next generation about clean energy before it’s too late,” says John Salzinger, Co-founder and Chief Business Development Officer. “It’s clear that the private-sector is now responsible for taking action, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

The brand has been developing education partnerships with leading school services supplier for K-12, Follett, and select New York City Public Schools. They have also partnered with MSU Denver to develop a curriculum to teach children about clean energy through interactive activities. This curriculum will be available upon request through the mpowerd.com education page.

Lead by CEO Seungah Jeong, MPOWERD is expanding their impact efforts and increasing their focus on education overall. “Raising awareness and helping to inspire children as problem solvers, specifically with respect to science and technology is becoming increasingly important,” says Jeong. “It’s our job to give them the tools to help them build a brighter future.”
